"There's a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in"
Join us to sing one of Leonard Cohen's most iconic songs: ANTHEM, in a beautifully rich new arrangement by British composer and conductor, Ali Orbaum.
Hear Leonard Cohen's live performance of ANTHEM in London
Our performance will combine Ali Orbaum's arrangement of the piece with a newly written percussion part, with instrumental solos modelled on Cohen's live session, created specially for SING THE NORTH.
Project includes a virtual field trip to Canada's East coast to speak with superstar cultural commentator Dr Kait Pinder, co-author of The Contemporary Leonard Cohen, on the magic behind ANTHEM as a cultural icon
Project Dates: June 1-15. Recordings due June 30
Download our ANTHEM TIMETABLE (subject to change)
Registration includes everything you will need to join us: your score, sound files, conducting videos, live rehearsals via Zoom, and access to our full rehearsal recording archive so you can watch live sessions at a time that suits you.
This project is led by friendly and dynamic STN Artistic Director Kathryn Whitney
