Our program for Season 3 of SING THE NORTH has now closed.
This page lists the pieces sung and videos completed in the 2022-23 season by our two virtual choirs STN (our founding virtual choir) and STN Ice (our choir for cutting-edge choral music). (Our kitchen-party drop-in choir, STN Fridays, sang so much this season that it is listed separately here.)
We hope you enjoy our Season 3 videos, which can be viewed below or on the STN YouTube Channel!

6. Angel by Sarah McLachlan, arr. Andre van der Merwe
A stunning arrangement for SSAATTBB choir of this iconic Canadian ballad, created by the director of the world-famous Stellenbosch University Choir. 7. Ambe by Andrew Balfour
A hugely uplifting composition for SSAATTBB choir by Manitoba Cree composer Andrew Balfour to an Ojibwe text from the original song by traditional singer and drummer. Cory Campbell.
"Ambe! Ambe! Anishinabeg! Biidigeg! / Come in! Come, all you two legged beings! There is good life here!".
Our project included a virtual field trip to the Indigenous Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where we met the hugely entertaining and knowledgeable guide Noah Malazdrewicz. Thank you Noah for your gracious and generous sharing of your knowledge!
Sung by STN Ice | Rehearsals complete. Video in production and coming soon. In the mean time, please enjoy this performance of Ambe by the Chronos Vocal Ensemble!
